Seraphim

The highest order of the angelic choir. They are called the burning ones and is always close to God. They are very loyal to God and they are described by Pie-Raymond as "moths madly beating with their wings against the glass of a lamp (the divine light of God) at which they would (gladly) burn themeselves." This highest order of the angels possess six powerful wings. In the Old Testament, Isiah described the Seraphim as having four faces and six wings.

The ruling angels of the order of Seraphim are Metatron, Michael, Seraphiel, Uriel, Natanael, and Jehoel.

Their primary purpose is to regulate the divine energies which emanates from God and to inculcate to man His divine love. They are considered to be the angels of pure love. They are also responsible for the movement of the heavens.

The word Seraphim means "The Powerful Ones Who Heals" and their concern to humanity is to lead them to righteousness and heal spiritual, emotional, as well as physical scar.

If you discover your guardian angel is of this order, consider yourself lucky! for their energies are so powerful you don't probably need to invoke or invite them every now and then to grant your wishes.

Cherubim

The word Cherubim is Assyrian in origin which means "He who intercede." Their view of the Cherubims are very different from those cute little angels advertised for a price as figurines, portrait, or toys. Cherubim for them is described as having a man or a lions face, with a body of an eagle or a bull. They are the representation of the four elements and the four corners of the earth. Cherubims possess two wings, where one is used to cover their body and the other for navigation. They carry flaming swords to guard the gates of Paradise.

The ruling angels of the order of Cherubim are Gabriel, Uriel, Raphael, Zophiel, Cherubiel, and Ophaniel.

St. John described the Cherubims, however, as having six wings almost the same as that of the Seraphim. In Muslim tradition, Cherubims are said to be created from the tears of Michael.

This angels of the second sphere share their wisdom to humanity. They are known as the angels of knowledge and intelligence. They are the scribe in heaven where they write all the activities of man.

Thrones

This third order of the angels, as their name implies, sits next to God. Their primary purpose is to govern the proper constellation of the entire universe. They are the companion angels of the planets. They also bring divine justice to humanity.

Some theologians describe the Thrones as round whirling circles with many eyes covering their bodies and they are sometimes called the Wheels because of their charcteristics. They always stay near to the Divine Presence and they are also called "bearers of God."

The ruling angel of the order of the Thrones are Zaphkiel, Raziel. Oriphiel, and Jophiel.

Although they also stand near to God, Thrones are interested in human affairs and they are very eager to help whenever they are invoked.

"In magick, call on the Thrones for assistance in smoothing relations with groups of people or between any two individuals. If you seek stability, look for the Thrones. Dominions

This fourth order of the nine choirs of angel delegates assignments to a lower rank of angels. They carry the Divine Will of God and they are responsible in fulfilling this duties.

They are the angels of cause and effect and they see to it that all is fair and "something" will result in "something." Leadership is one of their charcteristics and gift. They are also medium for divine mercy. Although they take their orders from God, and rarely contact individuals, their work is connected to your reality.

The ruling angels of Dominions are Zakariel, Zadkiel, Hashmal, and Muriel.

"Magickally, all issues of leadeship fall under the control of the Dominions. They are the epitome of the law of cause and effect, and are very precise in their working. Dominion angels bestow "natural leadership," and work to ensure that humans are happy and healthy under that leadership. They do not approve of corrupt govrnments, politicians, or church or civic leaders who do not have the best interests of the people at heart. If you wish to access divine wisdom, asl the Dominions. Theya are perfect mediators and arbitrators. If you are beginning an important project or have come across a glitch in a continuing one, call the Dominions. Virtues

This fifth order of the angels teaches man of integrity, values, morality, nobleness, ethics, and good deeds. They are the angels who help humanity through miracles. They are the angels who rejoice when help is given to a friend in need, when someone forgive another, when a couple decide to work their relationship rather than resort to divorce, or when someone risk his life for a stranger.

Virtues radiates their divine energies and help humanity towards harmony with one another. Virtues are the power behind the four elements of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. They are in charge of nature and natural laws which govern the Earth. They the angels of grace and valor. They are the angels of the saints and all who renounce evil.

The ruling angels of Virtues are Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Peliel, Anael, Tarshish, Hamaliel, Barbiel, Sabriel, and Uzziel.

"When working elemental magick, it is the Virtues who will listen to you and assist you. When you are in trouble or working a healing, turn to the Virtues.

When you are sick or scared, call on the Vitues. To reach the Virtus, burn a white candle for divinity and an orange candle for the Virtue."




Powers

The Powers are guardian of the gates of heaven. They ar the divine wariors. They guard the gates of heaven against fallen rebellious angels. They also keep humanities history. Theya are the angels of birth and death. They bring peace to every traditional religious belief system and make sure they maintain proper balance. They guard each of these enlightened establishment against the forces of darkness.

In some traditions, the Power angels are thought to be the first angels to be created.

Most of the Power angels help humanity or the person he is supposed to guard through dreams and intuition. They give strength and determination to their "ward" (the person guarded, pupil, trainee) to face the daily challenges they may encounter. They are guardian of the lost souls. They reside on the threshold of the celestial abode, which is the First and the Second heaven. Traditional resources teaches that fallen angels belong to this order of the angels. The Powers have the authority to punish or forgive according to the will of God.

The ruling angels of Powers are Gabriel, Camael, Verschiel.

"Magickally they are warrior angels, and you should call them when you are in trouble (oppress, agitated, ridiculed, robbed, etc.). The Powers are excellent at ferreting out hidden agendas that are designed to serve only one ego and harm others. They will assist you whenever you think the proverbial wool covers your eyes. These angels will defend your home, property, children, or any group of people who call on them for protection and defense. Principalities

The Principalities guard the high ranking officials in government, religion, leaders, and noble man, who leads humanity to righteousness, advancements and preservation of peace and harmony. They protect and enlighten these great individuals and use them as a medium for greater understanding and knowledge. They are called Prince, Princess, and Principals because they guard continents, countries, cities, towns and provinces.

If a person happen to become a leader or become a head of a state, a Principality angel is given over him.

The ruling angels of Principalities are Anael, Cerviel, and Rekiel.

"Magickally one can call on these angels in times of discrimination, extinction of animals and people (Goddess forbid), inadequate rulership of anything from a town to a company, or strength to make wise desicions for these places and inhabitants. Human rights and economic reform are top priorities for the Principalities. To reach the Principalities. burn a white candle for divinity and a red one for the Principalities."




Archangels

The Archangels are responsible for prayers to reach the Divine presence. They are always on guard the Earth and humanity against the fallen angels of Darkness. Some tradition acknowledges the Archangels as guardian of the planets.

Archangels are probably the most busy of all the ranks of angels. They are the most flexible of all the angels of the hierarchy. They protect the heavens, the planets, the Earth's proper constellation as well its vegetation, and the protection of any righteous individual who is in need of their help.

The word "Archangel" however, can be a title to describe a heavenly, positive, white angel.

The ruling angels of the Order of Archangels are Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel.

Angels

The Angels are the most familiar and is responsible to guard each individual at the time of his or her birth. They serve as a guardian, protector, and an inner voice to righteousness. They are intermediaries between God and man. They are the angels most closest to human beings and they concern themselves with human affairs in general. In the Book of Enoch, these guardian angels have the same faces and physique. It is also written that there is a special school in the Sixth heaven where they are instructed by the Archangels on the knowledge of humanity.

The Guardian Angels have the ability to communicate with high ranking angels for further intervention or help.

The ruling angels of the Order of the Angels are Adnakiel, Chayyiel, and Faleg.

"Guardian angels can come from any of the Nine Choirs. Each angel has his/her (or its, as your belief system indicates) function. None is better or more important than the others. To reach your guardian angel, burn your favorite color candle. Add a white one beside it for divinity."
